• If I am planning on running my own coat drive, do I need to register?
No, you do not need to register. We do love to hear when people are joining the initiative, however there is no official registration process. We recommend familiarising yourself with our 2022 Tools + Guidebook to learn how to start your coat drive within your community.

  • Where is my nearest collection point?
Find your nearest 2022 collection point here.

  • Does the Off Your Back Coat Drive run all year?
No, Off Your Back runs during the Australian winter (June 1st – August 31st.) If you have a coat to donate to your local community outside of these months, we recommend reaching out to your local charity, church or community organisation to arrange drop off of your donation.

  • Do you run the Off Your Back Coat Drive in any other states?
We’re a small team of volunteers in Victoria, and while we would love to coordinate the drive in other states across Australia, we’re unable to facilitate this. However, if you would like to run your own coat drive in any other state or region, we can assure you your local community groups would willingly accept coat donations to distribute to those in need.

We recommend reaching out to your local church, community centre, opportunity shop or charity to arrange a time to drop off the coats you have collected.

  • I don’t have a coat to donate, but I’d like to make a monetary donation.
While the generosity is always appreciated, Off Your Back has been running for over 20 years without a single penny changing hands. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support your community, we recommend reaching out to local organisations in your area who accept such donations, or donating to Big Group Hug’s Coats4Kids 2022 drive.

  • How do I register to become a collection point?
If you are able to facilitate coat drop offs, please reach out to info@offyourback.com.au to register as a 2022 collection point.

  • How do I organise for Capital Transport to collect my coat donations?
Capital Transport kindly offer complimentary services to transport coats from collection points around Victoria to local community organisations who will distribute the coats to those in need. Capital Transport is unable to collect coats from individuals, they will only collect coats from registered collection points.

  • Do you accept coats for babies, children, teenagers and adults?
Yes, we do, however if you have coats for babies, children or teenagers you can also donate these to Big Group Hug’s Coats4Kids drive. Discover drop off points for Coats4Kids here.
